HighEnd Media Launches Asia’s first Augmented Reality Magazine Cover

In an industry first, HighEnd Media rolls out AR-enabled experiences across two of its products — Billionaire Singapore and CROWN Singapore. Both magazines will use AR technology to showcase luxury timepieces.

13 JUNE 2017, SINGAPORE: HighEnd Media, the independently owned multi-platform luxury media group, launches Augmented Reality (AR) capabilities in print through its very own ‘HighEnd Media AR’ app.

In an industry first, HighEnd Media rolls out AR-enabled experiences across two of its products — Billionaire Singapore and CROWN Singapore. Both magazines will use AR technology to showcase luxury timepieces.

Billionaire Singapore’s June issue features Asia’s first AR-enabled magazine cover, aptly themed ‘The Future’, with the Montblanc Summit smartwatch. The Montblanc Summit is the luxury brand’s firstever smartwatch. The June issue of CROWN Singapore boasts AR-enabled pages that showcase A. Lange & Söhne’s Lange 1 Moon Phase watch.

The ‘HighEnd Media AR’ app works specifically with specially marked pages in both magazines. With the app, readers will be able to experience the timepieces via highly detailed 3-D renderings, simply by pointing the rear cameras of their tablets or mobile phones at the AR-enabled pages. Using their mobile devices, readers can pore over details of the watches, see how the timepieces look on their wrists, and share AR wrist shots via social media. This immersive experience breaks new ground and sets new standards for the publishing industry. It is an exciting endeavour for HighEnd Media, who partnered with NextGen Shopping Pte Ltd to develop the app.

The Future Issue of Billionaire Singapore will be displayed alongside the Montblanc Summit at the Montblanc Summit pop-up store from 16 – 25 June 2017 at B1 Takashimaya Shopping Centre. Visitors can try out the AR-enabled pages and test the Montblanc Summit smartwatch.
